Departure from your casa particular in Havana at 6:30 am.
Arrival in Viñales around 9am.
Start of the excursion upon your arrival.
On the way, we will discover the Wall of Prehistory, a mural 180m long by 120m wide, commissioned by Fidel Castro in 1961.
We will continue to the mountain “Los Acuáticos,” where we will dismount from the horse to climb a bit into the mountain, on foot, for about 1 km.
You will meet one of the last families with uncommon beliefs about the therapeutic properties of water. Then, you will be offered a “Guarapo,” sugarcane juice, all with a breathtaking view of the valley.
The path continues through a beautiful natural cave where you can enjoy a swim.
It will be possible to buy a snack for lunch.
Then, we will visit a tobacco plantation, where explanations of the cultivation process and cigar manufacturing will be provided by a farmer born in the valley. A cigar will be offered for you to savor on the spot.
You will learn where coffee comes from, from the coffee plant’s growth to bean roasting. Then, there will be a tasting of Guayabita del Pinar (traditional rum from Pinar del Río) and honey from the valley.
The typically Cuban scenery of the Palmarito valley is a natural site classified and protected by Unesco, which will undoubtedly amaze you.
You will end the day with a traditional Cuban dinner in the family home of José-Manuel & Chrystel.
If you are vegetarian or have intolerances, you can mention it, and we will be happy to cook for you.
The duration of the excursion is approximately 9 hours, with about 4 hours on horseback.
The taxi will pick you up at the end of the meal to take you back to Havana. Return to Havana around 10pm.

Next, we will visit a cafeteria, a viewpoint overlooking the valley, where you will learn about the origin of coffee, from the coffee plant to the roasting of the beans.
Then, enjoy tastings of Guayabita del Pinar (traditional rum from Pinar del Río) and valley honey.
